#4 COMMIT TO PUTTING LABOR IN ITS PLACE
You may not self-identify as a workaholic. Perhaps your purpose-driven life just requires you to pursue being highly successful. Or maybe you could give-a-flip — you hate your job. The work we do and our lifestyles are all different. The challenge to you is to make sure your job and career are in order with what God wants for you.
That can be a tall order for us because we are often easily influenced by media, cultural norms and trends, others and our own inner voice. But we really need to clearly know and stay tuned into what God has planned for us. That requires a lot of wisdom and prayer.
Former CEO of Lifestyle Family Fitness, Todd Bright, found that with time God was leading him into new areas to labor, serve and be faithful to the specific calling God gave him. Sometimes we all get things out of order and need to listen closely to God to get back on track. Other times you just need to recalibrate or simply do what seems risky (but really isn’t) and move forward to what God has for you to do next.
