I just led a bootcamp with a Veterans Day focus and thought you might enjoy it!
Simply answer the questions below and compare your answers with the correct ones at the end of the post. The difference between your answer and the correct number will determine the number of reps you perform. If you need more info or want to read a full article built on this concept, then read Christmas Trivia Fitness Quiz. Generally, if the number of reps you have to perform is big, divide them up between push-ups and squats or do jumping jacks or mountain climbers. Pick something that will push you, but that you know you can accomplish. If the number is low, go with something harder like burpees or lateral lunges. The exercises are up to you…I'm just providing a creative way to get your number of reps!
Here is your first question and an example to explain this further:
1. Approximately how many military veterans are in the US? The answer is between 15 and 50 million. Round your answer to the nearest million. I'll wait while you think…. . . . . Ready?… The answer is twenty-three million. So, if you guessed thirty-five million, you need to do twelve (12) reps of something. Make sense? If not, post a comment below!
2. Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day. It became an official holiday in what year? Your answer is between 1910 and 1960.
3. June 1, 19__, Armistice Day became Veterans Day. Your answer is between 1915 and 1975.
4. How many presidents have been veterans? There are 44 total
5. The Civil War is the deadliest war in our history. Approximately, how many casualties were there? Round your number to the nearest thousand. Warning…you might get a big number here, so see my notes above about dividing up the workload. Your answer is between 200,000 and 800,000. More details in answers below.
