Praise the Lord Every Day

“Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.” Psalm 145:2 (NIV)

What are some things that you do every day?

Hopefully you practice personal hygiene. I’m going to assume that you also eat and drink every day. I imagine you have your own routine that includes general actions for daily living as well as those things specific to you that make your day the kind of day you enjoy. For instance, I enjoy my early mornings of quiet time followed by a dose of fresh air and movement of some kind. It’s what I need every morning to get going.

But what other things make you and your day unique?

No matter what your personal daily agenda is, does it include praise to the Lord? God is good. He’s been good to me, and because I know that He is a good God, I believe He’s been good to you, too. Are you praising Him today? Do you worship Him throughout your day? How might your favorite hobbies or daily routines look different if you intentionally invited God into them? Worship is simply the expression of love and devotion to God. You can worship Him living your unique, everyday life.

Praise the Lord every day. He’s deserving. And it’ll change your attitude.

Think about the things you already love to do—gardening, walking, running, hiking, traveling, tending your home. Every one of those activities can become a moment of praise: thanking God for the beauty of His creation as you plant seeds, whispering prayers as your feet hit the pavement, reflecting on His Word as you pack for a trip, or even singing quietly while you fold laundry. Worship doesn’t have to wait for Sunday morning. It can weave into the very fabric of your lifestyle.

You can take your love for whatever it is that you do—your profession, your hobbies, your chores—and worship God in the process.

Action Step

Praise the Lord today! Then make it part of every day this week. Notice how it changes your attitude. This week, choose one activity you already enjoy—maybe your morning walk, gardening time, or commute—and dedicate it as a space for worship. Use that time to thank God, pray for others, or simply notice His presence with you.
