IDENTIFY HOW YOU VALUE FITNESS
Lastly, Let’s talk about fitness. As mentioned above, Jennifer and Michael have a difficult time making time for fitness. Fitness can be tough to juggle when we have to balance work, kids, homework, bills, errands, etc.
Fitness is much like time for food, family, and faith. IT’S IMPORTANT. Staying active is not only great for your health, but it’s a positive model for kids and/or spouse to see. As role models, we should lead by example and show our loved ones that fitness can be fun, beneficial, and universal.
How did Jennifer and Michael find time for fitness? They made time! They had to discuss making it a priority and clearly identify the value fitness has for them. They decided to write it in pen on their schedule (rather than using a pencil) and then sticking to it. Making at least 20 minutes a day to exercise can have a host of benefits and help you to feel better. Make it a point to schedule family friendly fitness time together such as biking, hiking, swimming, volleyball, etc. A family that stays active together stays healthy together.
- Make time for personal fitness as well as family fitness.
- Schedule it and STICK TO IT!!
USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO MAKE IT A PRIORITY:
- Joyfully but humbly share your fitness journey through your social media.
- Share your goals with the fitness community.
- Connect with other families who are on the same path.
