MAKING TIME FOR FAMILY
First, Let’s focus on Family. We should realize that family is one of the greatest blessings bestowed onto us. Self-growth is important to all of us. Having a strong family is critical to achieving that self-growth. Family is a great priority for maintaining healthy relationships among children as well as other family members. When making time for family, think about things to do together that will promote fun and engaging conversations. This might include: going to the park, cooking, hiking, mini vacations, trips to the movies, and swimming.
USE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA TO MAKE IT A PRIORITY
Take the rest of this week to think about five activities you can do as a couple or family to go beyond achieving balance and make your family a priority. They don’t have to be elaborate or what you think “looks good”. They simply need to be activities you’ll enjoy that give you the ability to increase value in your family.
List them on paper or your mobile device and then each day do one. Take a picture, post it the following day on your social media and briefly describe what it meant to you. Use the hashtag #MakeFamilyFit so others can benefit from your experiences.
Communication is a strong tool to help emphasize the importance of family and setting aside time to spend with family. For Jennifer and Michael, balance with family can be difficult to find because they tend to be more focused on keeping up with the trends of the world. When you budget time, have patience, and then plan to make it an enjoyable part of your life. You’ll discover how your thinking shifts from attempting balance to enjoying the priority you have made.
I recommend using a scheduler for planning family activities, calling family members to stay in touch, or keeping it as simple as sending a text to a loved one.
- Use a calendar app or planner to schedule times for family and STICK TO IT.
- Tag your favorite calendar or planning app along with hashtag #PlanItAndStickToIt
