When it comes to lifting weights and exercising at the gym you have to be wise or you can hurt yourself. The same goes for playing sports. Over training or pushing yourself beyond your pain threshold can cause real injury. Do you make wise choice when it comes to your diet, the way you manage your time, your career or your long-term life plans? If the recent financial markets have shown us anything it is that our best attempts at being wise may not be wise enough.
Should you be wise or otherwise?
Try some alternative thinking… Consider the implications that God is committed to destroying the wisdom of the wise. Why? He wants you to enjoy a better wisdom – Jesus. That’s right, the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. I’m not suggesting that God is foolish or weak. I’m saying that when you don’t have a clue, turning to God and trusting in Him is a smart thing to do. When you are broken, hurting and weak you are in the perfect place to experience some supernatural strength.
If you think that is way off from how things are really done and how people really behave then you’re still trying to be the wise guy. Good luck. Boast in yourself all you want – it never works. I’m the fastest, the strongest, the smartest. I’m wealthy, influential, attractive. Nobody cares!
If you really want to improve your health you’re going to have to go about it differently. Make these healthy habits a part of your daily life: be open, be thankful and be looking.
Pride is a powerful poison that taints your personal will. Instead be humble and open to making changes. Every time that your life crashes around you change your attitude from being hurt and discouraged to being thankful. Take charge of the pain. The next best thing for you is already within your grasp. Just be looking for it.
You’re busy wanting strength when in fact God is ready to give you power. On a spiritual level you think you want to do strength training when instead you should be power lifting. Are you going to be wise or otherwise?
Train strong in Christ,
