GROUP GATHERING
This year create your own end-of-year fellowship celebration. OK, we understand – the Christmas holiday and even other holidays are often that time exclusive to ‘family’. We’re not suggesting that you do something different. We’re encouraging you to add something more. Keep it relatively simple and manageable. Maybe even invite a neighbor or coworker or friend to help you organize and do it.
It’s a festive time of seasonal eats and conversation. Beyond that you can make it more. You might want to include:
- A time for story telling (2 or 3 guest read brief selections OR they tell their own personal story)
- Group caroling – in the comfort of your home or for the ambitious, door-to-door in the neighborhood
- A time of thanksgiving and prayer
- Recount the Christmas story from one of the Gospels in the New Testament (optional reenactment with children)
PRIVATE HOLIDAY
The month of January is a good time to do this. Find a destination (just for the day, overnight or for a weekend) to book your own personal time of renewal and strength. Use map – A Travel Lifestyle Magazine to help you consider where you can GO WHERE GOD IS. This exclusive holiday can be for just one person or a small group (we recommend no more than 6 to 8 people in your group).
The idea of this private holiday is to make it a first-of-the-year reboot. Consider focusing on the re: Pre and Post-Workout Recovery Tools For You.
What all will you plan for this holiday? Not much hopefully. Keep it simple. Practice your breathing.
Meals can include farm fresh breakfasts, energy rich lunches, and dinner featuring barbeque grilled salmon, baked chicken with tomato, lemon and herbs, gently prepped fresh veggies and some really deluxe deserts.

Adventure activities include winter kayaking, beach walk – run – dip, timber sports or connect-and-care service activity.
Add to this a workout at a local fitness facility. Call in advance and identify a gym or studio that will sell you a day pass. The main idea is to find a winter getaway where you can simply take time to rest amidst natural quietness and experience simple fellowship with others that can include rich conversations.
