Strength Coach For Your Life

Wide shot of a strength coach talking to a boxer in a boxing ring motivating him. When you Google the definition of ‘strength’ it states, “The capacity to withstand great force or pressure. Being strong. Capacity for exertion and endurance.” Everyone is capable of being strong, but the majority need someone to motivate them to get strong. A strength coach.

Luckily enough there are individuals in this world called strength and conditioning coaches. A strength coach job is to push that capacity of each of their athletes. Their role is to motivate you, give you the intent of the session, and specific cues to avoid harming yourself.

The fitness community is beginning to see the importance of strength and conditioning coaches. Watch any football game and you might hear the announcers talking about the players training prior to the season or the ‘get back’ coach on the sideline of the game which is usually a strength coach. Many athletes you see train under a strength and conditioning coach. Everyone needs a coach in their lives particularly a strength coach, so they can withstand great forces and learn to exert themselves more. The coach’s role is to increase the capabilities of their athletes to perform a sport or specific task demands ahead of them.

GROWING IN FAITH

Life is challenging but having someone to guide and support you will be more beneficial. We all need someone to push us but also build us up. Someone that knows our limit but believes in us and knows there is more within us. This is how we as humans can improve our capability. Many people assume that strength is a number that represents how much weight you can move. However, strength is also a mindset of fortitude to keep going when life gets difficult as we take on heavy burdens.

God gives you everything you need to grow strong and to endure. He wants to increase your capabilities and develop you to withstand the great forces life throws at you. God gave us Jesus Christ to become strong. Jesus is that very strength coach we all need in life. He won’t do the workout for us (we must put in the work), but He will be there to cue and coach us up along the way.

TAKE THE CUES

The point of cues is to make sure we have proper form and won’t be at risk of hurting ourselves. Similar, to any coach or fitness professional those cues make sure we don’t have poor form, so we can avoid injuring ourselves. His cues make us more efficient, so we can increase our capacity, sustainability, and ultimately our durability in daily life.

He will tell us to dig deep, to finish strong or stay strong. He will tell us to breathe in and breathe out. There will also be times He will tell us to rest and to recover. The more we listen to His cues for us the more we can endure. Each time we endure we become stronger, better, and more reliant on Him. Where can you find these cues? All God’s cues are in the Bible. For instance, God cues you to be strong and courageous. I know for me God is telling me to get up and rise up!

The key is to listen to what He is cueing you specifically to do. He might be telling you to “sit back, be patient, or slow down.” Similar to a strength coach cueing you to ‘sit back on your heels’ for a squat. Jesus might also be saying “pick up the pace, run, or go.” Similar to a coach motivating you to finish strong. Whatever that cue may be, apply that cue you hear so you will be in a better position to push yourself and grow stronger.

Our job as coaches is to know when to throttle someone down or up based on the amount of activities they are performing. In time, you will see that these cues give you guidance to be in a better position for success. No matter what cue you hear Jesus wants to encourage you. He wants us to finish strong just like any coach encouraging you to finish a workout strong. Christ gives us the strength we need to endure whatever comes at us in life.

LOOK TO JESUS AS YOUR STRENGTH COACH

The more we look to the greatest strength coach alive, Jesus, the more successful we will be. It is our faithfulness that makes each one of us successful in life. Jesus main goal for you is to build you up in faith and give you strength to handle life here on earth. He wants to make you steadfast, unshakeable, and immoveable. When our faith is steadfast our life will be steadfast. As coaches, mentors, and influencers this is also our duty. We need to build others up with mental resilience, physical capacity, and spiritual security. Make it your goal to be a strength coach for life and pointing everyone to the greatest strength coach, Jesus

-‘Listen’ for your Specific Cues to strengthen you.

-Be a strength coach and build others up.

Jesus should be everyone’s Strength Coach.
