Run The Race

In the movie RUN THE RACE, two desperate brothers sacrifice today for a better tomorrow.

Reeling from his mother’s death and his father’s abandonment, Zach, an All-State athlete, finds glory on the football field, working to earn a college scholarship and the brothers’ ticket out of town.

When a devastating injury puts Zach—and his dreams—on the sidelines, David laces up his track cleats to salvage their future and point Zach toward hope.

With themes of forgiveness, family and unconditional love, RUN THE RACE is the perfect film to engage your church, ministry, family, training partners or organization.

TRAINING TIPS FOR RUNNERS

  • Make sure those shoes fit perfect. Running is a repetitive impact sport. The force can be two to three times your body weight. Learn more about the force on a runners foot.
  • Don’t overdo it at first. Gradually increase speed and distance. Be sure to listen to your body. God has designed us to feel pain in part as a way to avoid injury.
  • Pace yourself. Going too fast OR too slow is not the ideal way to run. Here are 4 steps to the perfect pace.
  • Experience God. Many people have found that running is a great way to free the mind. But do more than clear your thoughts. Use your run as a time you set aside to pray, listen and worship God. Yes, listing to praise and worship music or audible Bible readings can be part of this but also practice the art of silent listening.
  • Run with others. Discover how this solitary sport can transform how you spend time with friends, family, and more. Make a point to run with intergenerational training partners (someone younger or older than you). The conversations and cooperation/teamwork will be invaluable.
  • Hydrate. Regardless of weather it is hot or cold you can become dehydrated. Water is always a good default. However, other drinks with electrolytes and more can replenish your body during and after an active run.
