Lord,
I admit that I have taken my health for granted for a while. I would eat whatever was put in front of me and think nothing of it. If I wanted it, I ate it. Pizza, doughnuts, ice cream and soda – and this is all in one day. Though I didn’t necessarily know that what I was doing was so destructive, I never felt that what I was doing was good for me. Gaining weight and busting out of my jeans didn’t feel good at all.
I was lazy. There was no activity in my daily routine and my arm was the only limb on my body getting constant movement from me changing the television channels.
But now that I have started on this journey of living healthy and living well, I look better and I feel better. I am eating healthier foods and exercising but sometimes I just want to give up. Sometimes I feel so emotionally drained and desperate for relief from the daily pressure of life that I want to overindulge in all the foods that I know are no good for me.
So Lord help me to endure, help me to stand the course. I need you. I know that my will power alone is not enough and that I must turn my attention on you for help; for with you all things are possible.
Thank you for you mercy and grace.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
