Recipe from Quick & Easy Breakfasts and Brunches
This smoothie recipe would be perfect to serve mom on Mother’s Day or a cool snack for a hot summer day. It’s a delicious breakfast option too! Smoothies are a great way to pack a generous portion of fruit and veggies into one refreshing snack. Great for mid-day break or to build quick energy before or after a fun outdoor workout. This is the basic recipe – you take it from here by adding extra ice, natural raw sprinkles and even a bit of protein powder.
Ingredients
- 1 c Yogurt, plain or -fruit-flavored
- 2 c Chopped fresh fruit
- Freshly grated nutmeg – pinch
- 2/3 c Ice-cold sparkling water or ginger -ale
- Mint sprigs (opt) -OR Fruit slices (opt) -(for garnish)
Directions
- Combine the yogurt, fruit, and nutmeg in a blender; process until smooth.
- Pour into glasses, filling 3/4 full.
- Top off with sparkling water or ginger ale.
- Gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with mint sprigs or fruit slices, if desired. Serves 2.
TIP: Keep it simple and safe – Don’t delay. Be sure to rinse your blender immediately after you make your smoothie.
