TRAINING

Today’s training went smoothly. Just worked on form and got the blood flowing. Nothing strenuous and each lift went well. I’m excited for Thursday. If one word could sum up how I’m feeling it’s confident. I’m confident in the numbers I’m going to put up and I can’t wait to get on stage.

Last lifts before Thursday. Tomorrow is a travel day. 6 hours. Oooof. Pray for my safe travels 🙏🏽

NUTRITION

Finding my groove lately with my meals. I timed them all well today so I didn’t experience any hunger until right about now before I go to sleep. Tomorrow is travel day so I’ll be spending a majority of my time on the road. I’ll be stopping by a Chick Fil A at the half way point to not only eat, but stretch! I can get stiff after long car rides. My go to when I’m losing weight is the 12 piece grilled nuggets. SO good.

Tomorrow also starts my dehydration. I don’t like to talk about this part of the weight loss because it’s not something I recommend to anyone. You essentially quit drinking water for 24-48 hours and if there’s anything you DO drink it’s some drink that has caffeine in it. I usually lose about 3lbs over the course of 24-36 hours. And although I weighed in around 148.5 this morning, I’ve put back some weight from drinking a lot of water so I need to cut that down. I’ll make weight. I haven’t missed it yet and I don’t intend to this time.

WHAT HAS BEEN ON MY MIND?

Really missing my wife right about now. It’s only been 1 day but that’s my best friend. The one whom I talk to about everything and I get to spend time with. She’s always been there for my events. I know she’s out there doing her thing getting better at her craft, while I do the same over here, but it sucks not having her here. If you noticed, 1/2 of my featured pictures have her in them. Although she won’t be there, I know she’s praying for my success and my safe travels.

That’s the other thing… It’s a 6 hour drive. Holy cow. What do you guys do on road trips like that? I try to jam out to music but I have mad road hypnosis. It’s why I don’t like driving. Five minutes into any trip, and I could fall asleep- no joke. But I’ll have cups and cups of coffee ready to go.

Less than 48 hours until I’m on stage. Who else is excited??

Update: 10:14pm- Spectators will not be able to attend. So I will also not have my parents and grandma cheering me on. Bit of a downer. But I must stay positive.

Heavenly Father, with all the craziness of the Coronavirus going around I pray for your grace to protect me in not just my travels but in my exposure. Keep me from harm in the name of your Son. Amen.
