I was talking with a person the other day and gave him my business card. Based on the conversation I knew this ministry could resonate with him. He read it, “Oh, Faith & Fitness Magazine — yeah nice. — So — What’s that all about?” I smiled and made the personal connection that is relevant to him.
Such questions used to annoy me and leave me frustrated, “It’s about faith AND fitness… duh! What do you not understand?” Today a more obvious and powerful truth guides my focus and actions. You, me, and all the people around us are daily in urgent need of connecting personally with God and being touched by the person of Jesus. Everybody is busy with life and looking to make life happen. The ambitions, activity, attitude and more all combine into a deafening roar that numb the spirit.
In many ways we’ve engineered Fantasyland and need to snap back to reality. That has been the conversation of the February/March 2017 issue. Soon the April/May 2017 issue will be online. It is your invitation to continue into the next 60-day journey.
For now consider these people as you move into the weekend:
– Brent is helping a co-worker and friend move on Saturday.
– Kim today is working with a childcare provider to help young restless children more easily sense peace and take a nap.
– Hannah is doing hair and makeup for a bride this Sunday to celebrate the beauty of marriage.
None of them have a business card with Faith & Fitness Magazine printed on it. BUT – each is physically meeting the spiritual needs of someone God has given them. They’re doing ministry that resonates. It happens daily and it happens that easily.
Fitness is all about being prepared, being willing and then BEING.
