Write the Vision Make it Plain

Fit For Freedom by Laurie Graves

Write the Vision

Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.  For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.  Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not lie.  Habakkuk 2:2

Habakkuk was a man determined to get an answer from God.  When God answered him, He directed Habakkuk to WRITE. The King James Version of the Bible says, Write the vision and make it plain. Could it be any simpler than that?

It is a proven fact that when you write down specific goals you are going to be far more successful in weight loss and reaching your fitness goals than the person who has very abstract goals. For example, abstract goals would be general statements such as I need to lose weight, I need to get healthy, I should stop smoking,” or I really ought to exercise.

A better way to list goals is to be specific:  I will drink 8 glasses of water a day.  I will walk 3 times a week for 30 minutes.  I will stretch every morning for 10 minutes to gain more flexibility.  A successful way to reach your health goals is to journal what you eat, write down emotions that you feel during the day and create an exercise log. When you journal your food intake and schedule your workouts daily like important appointments you are 80% more likely to be successful on your weight loss journey.

This verse also says that God’s revelation will not prove false.  The answer you are waiting for – the direction that you need from God concerning your health and wellness – is waiting to come to you and when it arrives, it won’t lie because the answer and wisdom will have come from God.  It will be impressed upon you by the Holy Spirit.  Sometimes we’re tempted to use a $19.99 shortcut to a fit body.   Don’t fall for that.  God has an answer on the way and it won’t trick, lie or deceive you like those “quick fixes” do.

Pray today’s prayer with me:

God, I thank You that You are pointing me in the right direction.  I thank You that I have wisdom and that You lead me to the path of fitness that is right for me.  As you illuminate that path, I will take the time to write the vision that You have given me so that I have a clear set of reasonable, achievable goals that I can review and that will help me stay on track.  I thank You that Your answers to me are truth and You never lie or use quick gimmicks or pressure to deal with me.  I will avoid using those same things to reach my goals.  Thank You that my answer is on the way and that it will come right on time.
